2013 All-NCAC Team

College of Wooster outfielder Demi Hart was recognized as one of the North Coast Athletic Conference's best players when its annual postseason awards were released Tuesday afternoon, as the sophomore slugger became just the second in program history to be voted to the All-NCAC First Team twice.

Hart joins former pitching standout Angie Barone ('04) as the Fighting Scots' only two-time first-teamers, and she did it in just her second season with the team.

After winning Newcomer-of-the-Year honors last spring, Hart's sophomore campaign was every bit as impressive, as she ranked sixth in the conference in batting average (.388) and fourth in slugging percentage (.681), behind 24 extra-base hits (16 doubles, 6 triples, 2 home runs).

Her six triples led the NCAC and her 16 doubles were second, and both totals set new program records. Hart was also fourth in the league in hits (45), fourth in total bases (79), fifth in RBI (26), and eighth in on-base percentage (.437), and chipped in 18 runs and five stolen bases.

Her level of play elevated against conference opponents, where she hit .434 (23-for-53) with eight multi-hit games. She recorded 12 doubles and 16 RBI in just 16 NCAC games, and also hit the first two home runs of her career against Ohio Wesleyan University (April 25) and Oberlin College (April 27).
