Georgia Hill |
The College of Wooster softball team won three of its last four games during its spring break trip to Fort Myers, Fla., and first-year Georgia Hill was at the forefront, as she hit .545 with eight RBI's during that stretch to earn her first-ever North Coast Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week honor.
It hasn't taken Hill long to get comfortable hitting at the collegiate level, as the talented newcomer played her way into the clean-up spot in the order and delivered some serious pop last week.
Hill totaled six hits over the Fighting Scots' four-game stretch and all of them went for extra-bases, coming via five doubles and her first career home run.
In a 11-10 win over Rutgers University-Newark, Hill drove in two runs with a deep double to right center during the fourth inning, and then in the sixth, she smashed a two-run homer over the left-field fence. It marked one of three times during the trip that Hill drove in four RBI, including her very next game, an 8-0 win against Nichols College.
The Scots will look to build off their promising start to the season when they host their home opener on Thursday, a doubleheader with Baldwin Wallace University at 3:30 p.m.
