Senior Emmalee Cooke showed her versatility this past weekend and was awarded North Coast Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week honors in softball.

Wooster (5-3) spilt four games with Case Western Reserve University (10-6) and took the Sunday two-game sweep at home. The senior leadoff hitter batted .563 (9-of-16) across the four games and hit a double in each contest.

She was especially effective in the two wins. In the 10-9 win in game one, she went 4-for-4 with a leadoff home run, one double, one walk, three runs scored and three RBI. In game two, she was 2-for-4 with one double and a run scored.

Outside of her play at the plate, she went behind the plate as catcher in the final game and caught two runners stealing.

On the season, Cooke leads the team and is fifth in the NCAC with a .452 average (14-for-31). Her seven doubles ties her for second in the conference as well.

Wooster returns to play this weekend with a four-game series versus Hiram College.
