Scots Conclude Year in NCAC Tournament

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The College of Wooster softball team was eliminated from the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament on Sunday with a 5-0 loss to DePauw University.

The fourth-seeded Scots could not recreate the magic it had in knocking off the sixth-ranked Tigers on Saturday as senior pitcher Cami Henry limited the Scots to just six hits in the complete game shutout.

Wooster started sophomore Rachael Dudziak who went four solid innings, giving up three earned runs in the loss. Junior Addie Tagg took over in the sixth and pitched the final two frames, allowing one earned run.

DePauw manufactured its first run with an error in the bottom of the first. They scored two in the third, one on a groundout and another on a single up the middle.

A sacrifice fly made it 4-0 in the fourth, and a double made it 5-0 in the fifth.

Wooster threatened in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded and nobody out. However, a baserunning mistake and a strikeout quickly quelled the rally as the final batter then flied out.

Senior Gabby Lakes finished 2-for-2. Addie TaggStephanie Griffin-SanchezKaydee Clark, and Sarah Lodge all recorded a hit.

Wooster finishes the year at 18-23. DePauw ultimately fell to Hiram College in the NCAC Tournament Championship game.

Griffin-Sanchez and Dudziak were named to the All-Tournament Team.
