Jennings Inaugural Winner of Gold Glove Award

Gold Glove field First-year Julia Jennings became one of the inaugural winners of the 2023 NCAA Division III Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, presented by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), taking the third base award.

Jennings was one of the nine selected by the 10 regional representatives of the NFCA's NCAA Division III All-America Committee, following regional voting to identify the finalists at each position.

Although Jennings was one of Wooster's best hitters this season, breaking the single season program record with a .450 batting average (59-of-131), this award was all about her play in the field.

Playing exclusively at the hot corner, Jennings collected 56 put outs and 101 assists in 165 total chances. She turned six double plays and made just eight errors for a .952 fielding percentage.

In addition to her gold glove award, Jennings was an NFCA All-Region First Team honoree as well as the North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year, making the All-NCAC First Team.

Wooster finished the year at 19-19 with a 7-7 record in NCAC play.
