Box Score

Priscilla Haug A handful of competitors from The College of Wooster's swimming and diving team made the trip to Gambier, Ohio on Saturday to compete in the Kenyon Invitational, the last meet during the regular season, in hopes of earning NCAA Div. III qualifying times in their respective events. Several came close, but women's backstroke specialist Priscilla Haug was able to achieve a "B" cut time.

Haug became the ninth Wooster swimmer to hit a "B" cut this season, and the fourth on the women's side, joining Syd Kelly, Kate Hunt, and her sister Melissa Haug. She placed second in the 200 backstroke by touching in 2:08.32, just .18 seconds (2:08.14) off of her own school record in the event.

Priscilla's sisters Melissa and Rebeca Haug also were solid in competition, as they finished first (2:08.67) and second (2:14.77) in the 200 butterfly, respectively. Also snagging a top-5 finish was Caroline Hanson, who finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke with her time of 1:08.83.

On the men's side, it was Alex LaJoie who had the best showing, as he took fifth place in both the 200 IM (2:02.00) and 200 backstroke (1:59.95)

Now Wooster's swimming and diving standouts will wait to see if any of their "B" cut times will be enough to send them to the NCAA Div. III Championships on Mar. 17-20.
