Scot Swimmers Split With Ohio Wesleyan in Dual-Meet Action

Samira El-Adawy The College of Wooster's men's and women's swimming and diving teams split its meets with Ohio Northern University on Saturday, as the women triumphed 165-135 but the men dropped their contest 132-168 at Ada, Ohio.

The Fighting Scots' women (3-0) had four swimmers win in multiple events, including first-year Samira El-Adawy, who placed first in the 100 freestyle (56.38) and the 400 IM (4:48.15). Sisters Priscilla and Melissa Haug both claimed two individual wins, as Priscilla won the 200 freestyle (2:01.46) and 200 backstroke (2:15.58) and Melissa earned top honors in the 200 butterfly (2:15.44) and 500 freestyle (5:26.47). Freshman Kate Hunt had an impressive outing as well, winning the women's 100 back (1:02.38) and 100 butterfly (59.19).

For the men (1-2), Logan LaBerge made an impact, securing the top spot in both the 100 (54.84) and 200 backstroke (1:58.33). Sophomore diver Luke Knezevic was the top scorer in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, earning 280.20 and 280.70 points, respectively.

Wooster heads to Case Western Reserve University on Nov. 13 to compete against the Spartans, Oberlin College, and John Carroll University in the annual Veale Classic.
