In their final meet prior to the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams were swept by visiting Grove City College on Saturday. The women's meet went back-and-forth deep into the afternoon before Grove City pulled away late for a 165.5-134.5 triumph, marking just Wooster's second dual loss of the season (8-2), while the score of the men's competition was 150-133 as the Fighting Scots slipped to 2-8.

Wooster kicked off the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay, as the group of Mariah McGovern, Caroline Hanson, Melissa Haug, and Adriana Hoak reached the finish in 1:54.77, and individually, Kate Hunt stood out as the team's lone double winner. Hunt earned first-place in the 200 freestyle (2:00.44), and later, in the 100 butterfly (1:00.66).

Three other women scored victories for the Scots with Samira El-Adawy pacing the field in the 100 backstroke (1:01.58), Haug doing so in her specialty, the 200 fly (2:12.27), and Alyse Marquinez taking top honors in a closely-contested competition on the one-meter diving board (187.90).

In the men's meet, Peter Parisi and Luke Knezevic highlighted Wooster's results. Parisi won both the 100 breaststroke and the 100 fly with times of 59.46 and 51.62, respectively, not far off his own school records of 58.55 and 50.99. Knezevic, the reigning NCAC Diver of the Year, appears to be rounding into form as his 299.55 (one-meter) and 280.80 (three-meter) scores were easily the tops on Saturday.

The Scots will now make final preparations for the NCAC Championships to be held in Canton, Ohio, on Feb. 10-12.
