Melissa Haug and Peter Parisi each broke school records and registered "B" cuts for the NCAA Div. III Championships, to highlight The College of Wooster's men's and women's swimming team's showing at the Kenyon Invitational Saturday in Gambier, Ohio. Both squads finished in a respectable fifth-place (of 14 men and 17 women), although the primary purpose of the meet was for individuals to take one last shot at qualifying for nationals.

Parisi took advantage of his opportunity, shaving 0.62 seconds off his own team record in the 100 breaststroke from 58.20, established at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships last week, to 57.58 while finishing in second-place in the event.

In a time trial, Haug lowered her previous best in the 100 butterfly by a little more than half a second from 57.58 to 57.03. She also took the school record back from teammate Kate Hunt, who had broken it a week ago with her own "B" cut effort of 57.47.

Haug, Hunt, and Parisi, as well as diver Luke Knezevic now all wait to hear if they qualify for the NCAA Championships, set to take place March 23-26 in Knoxville, Tenn.
