In their first non-conference dual meet of the season, The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams were swept by Ohio Northern University on Saturday. The women's battle was closely-contested throughout, but Ohio Northern pulled out a narrow 153-141 victory, while the men's score was 208-86.

Ohio Northern's women took the opening two races, but then Samira El-Adawy picked up a win in the 200 freestyle (2:00.5), and Wooster claimed four of the next five races overall. During that stretch, Mariah McGovern won the 100 backstroke (1:03.14), Melissa Haug won the 200 butterfly (2:14.97), and Morgan Hughes won the 50 freestyle (25.83).

Hughes later touched first again, this time in the 100 freestyle (55.24), and that prompted her teammates to become double-winners as well, as El-Adawy took the 200 backstroke (2:14.83), McGovern took the 500 freestyle (5:21.20), and Haug finished first in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.47.

Later, the team of Hughes, McGovern, Haug, and Clare Walsh won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:41.77.

The men got their meet started with a win, as Alex LaJoie, Peter Parisi, Brian Maddock, and Imre Namath edged out Ohio Northern by a stroke in the 200 yard medley relay (1:38.68).

Maddock and Parisi each won twice in individual action as well, with Maddock's wins coming in the 100 backstroke (54.26) and 200 backstroke (2:03.02), and Parisi's in the 100 breaststroke (59.14) and 100 butterfly (52.11).

Next, the Scots will compete in the Veale Classic on Nov. 11-12.
