Fresh off a solid performance at the Plantation Relays, which took place during The College of Wooster's winter break training trip in Florida and featured a handful of NCAA Div. I schools, the Fighting Scots picked up where they left off, as the men's and women's squads both swam to wins over Hiram College Friday evening in a North Coast Athletic Conference dual meet at Hiram, Ohio.

The Scots combined to win 20-of-26 events at the meet. It marked the men's first dual meet victory of the season (1-5), while the women improved to 4-2.

In the men's 122-64 triumph, Peter Parisi and Alex LaJoie led the way with two wins apiece in individual races. Parisi touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle (25.44) and 100 freestyle (57.53), while LaJoie took top honors in the 400 IM (5:08.52) and 200 backstroke (2:25.29).

Other Scots who won for the men were Kevin Audet in the 200 freestyle (2:07.06), Peter Hause in the 200 butterfly (2:40.38), and Brian Maddock in the 400 freestyle (4:36.36).

On the women's side, eight different swimmers chipped in a first-place finish to help the team more than double Hiram's score (154-70). Kara Markham was the bright spot, winning both the 400 freestyle (4:53.86) and 800 freestyle (9:58.02), while others victorious include Clare Walsh in the 50 freestyle (29.72), Samira El-Adawy in the 400 IM (5:19.52), Morgan Hughes in the 100 freestyle (1:02.30), Kate Hunt in the 200 freestyle (2:15.99), and sisters Melissa Haug and Priscilla Haug in the 200 butterfly (2:31.14) and 200 backstroke (2:32.76), respectively.

Also noteworthy, Adriana Hoak bested two others to win the one-meter diving event with 135.00 points.

The Scots will be back in the pool tomorrow when they host Ohio Wesleyan University and Defiance College at 1 p.m.
