Scots’ 200 Free Relay 12th at NCAA Meet

The College of Wooster's 200 freestyle relay team advanced to the consolation finals of the NCAA Div. III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday, placing 12th overall during the second day of competition at Indianapolis, Ind.

Kate Hunt, Mariah McGovern, Melissa Haug, and Morgan Hughes teamed together for the 12th-fastest qualifying time in prelims (1:36.26) and stayed in that position, despite trimming their mark slightly to 1:36.12. Via the performance, they each picked up All-American recognition for the first time in their careers, and the Fighting Scots now sit in 29th-place at the national meet.

Wooster's 400 medley relay nearly reached the finals (top-16) as well, settling for 19th-place (4:02.10), while individually, Haug and Hunt each took part in the 100 butterfly, finishing 22nd (57.19) and 23rd (57.21), respectively.

On Wednesday, the Scots' 200 medley relay was 29th (1:50.57), Haug 30th in the 200 IM (2:08.52), and Hunt 31st in the 50 free (24.06).

The NCAA Championships continue Friday and Saturday.
