Scots Reach Consolation Finals in Two More Events at NCAA's

The College of Wooster garnered more All-American honors during Friday's events at the NCAA Div. III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Indianapolis, Ind., as Kate Hunt and Melissa Haug took 15th and 16th place, respectively, in the 200 butterfly, and the team of Hunt, Morgan Hughes, Mariah McGovern, and Haug touched the wall 15th in the 800 freestyle relay.

In the prelims of the 200 fly, Haug posted the 13th quickest time in 2:05.54, and Hunt was 15th in 2:06.26. Then later in the consolation finals, Hunt cut more than a second off her time from the prelims (2:05.10), which reset her own school record in the event and was good for 15th-place. Haug posted a nearly identical time from her prelims in 2:05.66, which was right behind Hunt in 16th.

Then in the 800 freestyle relay, Hunt and Haug joined Hughes and McGovern to take 15th-place in 7:43.27, marking the foursome's second All-American result in as many days.

Overall, the Scots moved into a three-way tie for 24th-place at the national meet.

The NCAA Championships will conclude Saturday.
