2012 CSCAA Scholar All-America Individual: Women

The College of Wooster men's and women's swimming and diving teams were each honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America with the Scholar All-America Team Award, and three Scots on the women's side received Scholar All-America Individual honors, the organization announced Tuesday.

The Team Award is presented to squads that have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, which both the men (3.08 GPA) and women (3.39 GPA) achieved.

Earning individual accolades were Morgan Hughes, Kate Hunt, and Mariah McGovern, who garnered selections by having a 3.5 grade-point average or higher and qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Hughes and Hunt reached All-American status in three relay events at the national meet, and McGovern was a member of two, including the trio's first-team honors in the 400 freestyle. Hunt also became an individual All-American in the 200 butterfly.

Wooster joined Denison University and Kenyon College as the only women's teams in the North Coast Athletic Conference to have three or more individuals named Scholar All-America.
