The College of Wooster's Kate Hunt added a sixth All-American honor to her résumé, as she reset her own school record by a considerable margin and placed seventh in the championship finals of the 200 butterfly during Friday evening's portion of the NCAA Div. III Swimming and Diving Championships at Shenandoah, Texas.

During this morning's prelims, Hunt shaved nearly a second off her school record in the event (2:05.10) with a 2:04.24, which was good enough for eighth-place and a spot in the championship heat.

It was there that Hunt improved yet again, this time touching over a full second quicker in 2:02.95, which earned her seventh-place and her first-ever individual top-eight performance at nationals.

The day prior, Hunt fell just two-hundredths of a second short of qualifying for the championship heat of the 100 butterfly, when she lowered her own school record in the event to 55.85 seconds, about three-tenths faster than her previous low (56.13). The 55.85 was ninth-best, with the eighth-place swimmer at 55.83, thus Hunt was about a fingertip shy of competing among the top-eight in the finals.

Hunt turned in a similar time of 56.09 during the consolation, good for 10th and 0.13 behind the winner of the heat.

On Wednesday, Hunt placed 25th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.83.
