Junior Brian Maddock helped lead The College of Wooster's men's swimming and diving team to their first dual-meet victory over league-rival Wittenberg University since 2007, and in doing so, was named the North Coast Athletic Conference's Men's Athlete of the Week for swimming, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The Fighting Scots upended the Tigers for the first time in seven years Saturday, 159-137, and it was Maddock leading the charge, as he won two individual events, and again as a member of a relay team.

Maddock's first win came in the men's first event of the day, the 200 medley relay, as he swam the first leg of the team's 1:40.43 triumph. Then in singles action, Maddock won the 100 backstroke in 54.83, and was eight seconds quicker than his nearest challenger in the 200 backstroke (2:00.21).

He nearly touched first in a fourth event, but settled for second-place in the 200 IM (2:04.43).

Next, the Scots will compete in the Greater Cleveland Tournament, with their initial match-up coming against Baldwin Wallace College on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Oberlin, Ohio.
