The College of Wooster's men's and women's swimming and diving teams were dominant in a sweep over Baldwin Wallace University, as they combined to win 19-of-26 events on their way to 168-62 and 142-99 victories, respectively, during the Greater Cleveland Tournament on Friday evening at Oberlin, Ohio.

Overall, the Fighting Scot men and women outscored the Yellow Jackets 310-161, which is the scoring format that is used to determine which teams advance as the Greater Cleveland Tournament continues tomorrow and next weekend.

Conner Gelwicks stood out individually on the men's side, as he earned first-place points in the 200 freestyle (1:49.94) and 100 backstroke (56.55), and also teamed up with Aaron Brown, Brian Maddock, and James Love to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:31.55.

Maddock, the reigning North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, was also involved in another relay triumph, as he swam the first leg of the winning 200 medley team (1:41.65) with Evan Hagedorn, Steven Hardy, and Frayne Poeting, and later as an individual, he touched the wall first in the 100 butterfly in 53.53.

The women's results were highlighted by Anna McGlade and Courtney McGovern, as the pair of newcomers each won twice in individual competition. McGlade narrowly edged out her classmate Theresa Dunne for top honors in the 1,000 freestyle (11:34.71), and also won the 100 freestyle in 58.24, while McGovern won the 50 freestyle (26.50) and 100 backstroke (1:02.95).

Other notables included Molly Laubernds, who was victorious in the 200 freestyle in 2:04.13, and also led off in a winning effort in the 200 freestyle relay (1:45.73), while Colleen Kill and Caitlin Shea were the other two to win individually, with Kill in the 100 butterfly (1:03.98) and Shea in the 500 freestyle (5:41.16).

The Scots will swim againt either Oberlin College or Hiram College tomorrow at 2 p.m., depending on the winner of tonight's dual-meet between the two, as the Greater Cleveland Tournament continues in Oberlin, Ohio.
