The College of Wooster men's and women's swimming team completed the Greater Cleveland Tournament in third-place via a decisive combined score of 357-217 over John Carroll University as the second weekend of the second annual event came to a close Saturday in University Hts., Ohio.

Wooster, which easily cruised past Baldwin Wallace University before taking a close loss to Oberlin College last weekend, combined for 21 wins in the 32 events against John Carroll.

Keyed by the swimming of Sarah Litt and Courtney McGovern and the diving of Theresa Spadola, the Fighting Scots outscored the Blue Streaks 191-91 in the women's competition. Litt was a double winner, leading the field in the 200 backstroke (2:17.61) and 400 IM (4:52.85), as was McGovern, who paced the pool in the 100 butterfly (1:02.25) and 200 freestyle (2:02.12), and Spadola swept the diving events, scoring 148.43 on the one-meter and 151.72 on the three-meter.

Mariah McGovern joined her sister in victory lane, with her first-place coming in the 100 back (1:05.09), while teammates Anna Duke took top honors in the 200 fly (2:23.10), Anna McGlade in the 500 free (5:35.21), and Theresa Dunne in the 1650 free (19:07.50). For Dunne, a first-year, it marked her first collegiate win.

Brian Maddock continued another strong season as he was the difference maker for Wooster in the men's 166-126 dual-win. The junior standout won three events, sweeping the backstrokes in 54.65 (100) and 2:03.84 (200) and adding a triumph in the 100 fly (54.33).

Touching first in their respective events were Conner Gelwicks, Evan Hagedorn, Frayne Poeting, and Zackary Pool in the 200 free (1:49.39), 200 breast (2:26.66), 100 breast (1:04.14), and 200 fly (2:05.15).

Also, Aaron Salzman made it a clean sweep in the diving well as he scored 240.60 on the one-meter and 190.50 on the three-meter.
