The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams combined for 20 event wins during a decisive sweep of North Coast Athletic Conference foe Ohio Wesleyan University, as the men prevailed 149-131 and the women 189.5-81.5 inside Timken Natatorium on Saturday.

The Wooster women were particularly dominant, as the 100-plus point win included 1-2-3 sweeps in two different events. Sarah Litt led the Fighting Scots' top-three showing in the 200 butterfly with a 2:15.94 time, followed by Colleen Kill (2:19.57) and Lena Smith (2:25.11), and in the 100 fly, it was Mariah McGovern with a first-place time of 1:01.21, Kill another runner-up (1:03.62), and Theresa Dunne in third (1:07.41).

Litt was a triple winner, adding triumphs in the 200 backstroke (2:17.52) and 200 IM (2:17.83), while Morgan Hughes and Anna McGlade each produced double victories in the freestyles. Hughes did so in the sprints, recording a 25.60 in the 50 and 55.58 in the 100, and McGlade in the longer distances, recording a 2:01.52 in the 200 and 5:23.27 in the 500.

McGovern's younger sister, Courtney McGovern, put forth a dominating effort in the 100 back, with her winning time of 1:01.97 being more than three seconds faster than her nearest competitor, and Theresa Spadola contributed points with a first-place on the one-meter diving board (145.95).

Wooster's men's team also had a triple winner in the form of Brian Maddock, who swept the backstroke races with times of 54.09 in the 100 and 2:01.47 in the 200, plus notched first-place in the 200 IM (2:01.28).

In the closest race of the day, the 100 breaststroke, Evan Hagedorn outstretched an Ohio Wesleyan competitor at the wall, 1:01.81 to 1:01.90, while Conner Gelwicks won the 200 freestyle (1:47.80), Zackary Pool the 200 butterfly (2:01.82), and James Love the 100 fly (54.21).

The difference in the men's competition, though, may have come in diving, as Aaron Salzman provided 18 points via first-place finishes in both the one-meter (200.15) and three-meter (180.30).

On Friday, the Scots will host a dual against the University of Mount Union at 5:30 p.m.
