For the second year in a row, The College of Wooster joined Defiance College and Malone University for a "double dual," which pits competitors from all three schools against each other, but is scored as separate dual meets, and the women's team was triumphant against both Malone (203-71) and Defiance (236-23), while the men lost to Malone (166-121) but defeated Defiance (238-30) in non-conference action at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio.

The men and women combined to win 16-of-32 events, but the women stood out with 13 of those victories, and Courtney McGovern took part in four of them.

Individually, McGovern won the 100 backstroke (1:02.18), 200 freestyle (2:00.05), and 200 IM (2:15.54), and in the 200 medley relay, she teamed with Alexandra Desotelle, Morgan Hughes, and her sister Mariah McGovern to take top honors in 1:53.42.

Hughes was a double-winner as an individual, as she hit the wall first in the 100 butterfly (1:01.10) and 100 free (54.84), as was Theresa Spadola, who swept the diving events with scores of 152 in the one meter and 110.5 in the three meter.

Rounding out the women's top performers were winners Theresa Dunne in the 1650 free (18:56.78), Kaitlyn Fries in the 50 fly (28.39), Anna McGlade in the 500 free (5:26.12), Mariah McGovern in the 50 back (29.59).

Two of the men's three wins came courtesy of diver Aaron Salzman, who won the one meter (170.3) and three meter (179.30) events, while Conner Gelwicks bested the field in the 1650 free in 17:38.86. The men also took second-place in six events, with Brian Maddock netting two of those results in the 50 back (24.92) and 50 fly (24.62).

James Love was also responsible for two second-place finishes, with one coming individually in the 100 fly (55.69), and the other by swimming the last leg of the 200 free relay (1:31.44) along with classmates Aaron Brown, Gelwicks, and Avery Wilson.

Wooster will swim against North Coast Athletic Conference foe Allegheny College next Saturday at 1 p.m.
