For the third consecutive year, The College of Wooster will have a representative at the NCAA Div. III Swimming and Diving Championships as first-year Courtney McGovern made the cut, an NCAA committee announced on Wednesday. The 2014 national meet is set to take place March 19-22 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.

McGovern is seeded in a tie for 15th in the 100 butterfly (56.36) as well as 18th in the 200 backstroke (2:02.49) and 30th in the 100 backstroke (57.50). She recorded those times during a standout performance at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, where she won the 100 fly, was a close second in the 200 back, and fifth in the 100 back.

Both backstroke times were school records, and now McGovern may take aim at the 100 fly mark set just last season by Kate Hunt at the 2013 NCAA Div. III Championships, when she placed 10th in the event (55.85), as well as seventh in the 200 fly for All-American honors.

During the 2012 NCAA Div. III Championships, McGovern's sister, Mariah McGovern, was an All-American as part of Wooster's 200 freestyle relay team.

This season, McGovern is scheduled to swim the 100 fly on Thursday, March 20, the 100 back on Friday, March 21, and the 200 back on Saturday, March 22.
