For the second time in three weeks and third time in her career, College of Wooster standout swimmer Courtney McGovern has been named North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.

McGovern, a sophomore, has been on an impressive run since the season kicked off about a month ago, and this past weekend was more of the same.

First against Case Western Reserve University on Friday evening, she swam the opening backstroke leg on the winning 400 medley relay (4:05.91), and then went on to notch individual victories in the 200 freestyle (1:58.55) and 200 backstroke (2:12.45).

Then on Saturday, McGovern contributed another three first-place finishes in meets with Hiram College and Olivet College, as she took the 200 IM in 2:16.91, and then helped lead winning relay efforts in the 200 medley (1:54.2) and 200 freestyle (1:42.27).

In dual meets this season, McGovern has won 13 of the 14 events she has entered. She will look to keep it up when the Fighting Scots visit Westminster (Pa.) College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
