 Conner Gelwicks

A 4-for-4 day in terms of first-place finishes by Conner Gelwicks helped lead The College of Wooster men's swimming and diving team to a decisive 207-87 win over Oberlin College on Saturday, and hook in North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Athlete of the Week Honors on Monday.

Gelwicks helped the Fighting Scots get off to a fast start, swimming the leadoff leg of the winning 200 medley relay (1:40.22).

Four events later, the junior was right back at it, winning the 200 freestyle (1:49.97) by nearly three seconds over teammate Garrett Layde. Later in the meet, Gelwicks cruised to a near 10-second victory in the 200 backstroke (1:59.99) and likewise in the 400 individual medley (4:31.92).

As a team, the Scots finished first in 13 of 16 events, and reached 200 points for the first time since scoring 238 against Defiance College in 2014.
