Gelwicks Earns NCAC Athlete-of-the-Week Honors for Second Time this Season

Conner Gelwicks, a triple-winner in Saturday's dual meet against Allegheny College, earned men's swimming and diving North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete-of-the-Week honors for the second time this season, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Gelwicks started the meet by turning in 25.16 split as the backstroke leg of the first-place 200 medley relay that came in at 1:39.80. Individually, Gelwicks captured first in the 100 back (54.80), and later claimed first in the 100 butterfly (54.00).

Wooster went on to win the meet 163-119 to finish with an undefeated record in dual meets against NCAC opposition.

Gelwicks previously was the NCAC Athlete-of-the-Week on Nov. 2, 2015 for his performance against Oberlin College.

Gelwicks as his teammates are back in action on Saturday in a double-dual meet against Albion College and Olivet College in Olivet, Mich.
