CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams Release

The College of Wooster men's and women's swimming and diving teams were among the Scholar All-America teams for the 2020 spring semester, as announced by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association on Tuesday morning. A record 789 programs from 461 institutions made the list of honorees.

These honors cap an impressive year for the Fighting Scots' program. On the women's side, sophomore Molly Likins competed at the World Deaf Swimming Championships in Brazil, where the mathematics major earned silver medals in the 50- and 100-meter breaststrokes. Other highlights for Likins at the meet included four national records, a fourth-place showing on USA's 4x100 medley relay, and a fifth-place effort in the 200-meter breaststroke. During the college season, Likins logged the seventh-fastest Div. III time (1:02.58) in the 100-yard breaststroke and earned All-America honors in the event. Junior Madison Whitman collected All-America honors in the 200-yard breaststroke, where she had the 12th-fastest time in Div. III (2:18.30) this year. The duo's All-America honors marked the first for the program since 2013, and Wooster's women's swimming and diving team now has 203 all-time All-America honors (121 individual honors, 82 relay honors).

Sophomore Eric Jacques headlined Wooster's accomplishments on the men's side with All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors on the one- and three-meter diving boards, and in doing so, the history and political science major became the first Scot to earn All-NCAC honors in multiple individual events at a conference meet since 2011. Wooster's 400 medley relay consisting of juniors Josh Gluck and Craig Klumpp, senior Trey Schopen, and junior Wyatt Foss rounded out the men's all-conference honors.

In order to earn Scholar All-America honors, teams must have achieved at least a 3.0 GPA for the most recent academic semester.
