Harrington Collects 100th Men’s Dual Meet Win in Sweep of Wittenberg

The men gave coach Rob Harrington his 100th men's dual meet win on Saturday.

The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams defeated Wittenberg in a dual meet on Saturday with the men winning 161-40 and the women winning 148-43.

Head coach Rob Harrington collected a milestone in the process, as he earned his 100th career men's dual meet win.

Wooster won all but four events. The Wittenberg women won unopposed in the one meter and three meter diving events – the only negative marks for the Wooster women. 

The women started with a win in the 400 yard medley with a time of 4:16.09 behind the team of Hannah Langer, Molly Likins, Anne Bowers and Lexi Riley-DiPaolo.

Likins (26.43), Bowers (26.71) and Langer (26.91) finished 1-2-3 in the 50 free. Langer also had a winning performance in the 200 back (2:18.14).

Sophomore Kay Wetmore won the 1000 free in 11:21.61 and the 200 fly in 2:23.23. First-year Emma Connors won by just over a second in the 200 free (2:04.10) and by just over two seconds in the 500 free (5:29.32).

The success for the first years continued as Maddie Becker captured a win in the 400 IM with a time of 5:00.10. She later took two additional wins in the 100 free (57.27) and the 200 breast (2:38.83).

Riley-DiPaolo, Likins, Wetmore and Mia Chen closed the meet with a 4:00.20 time in the 400 free relay, winning unopposed.

On the men's side, the 400 medley relay team of Josh Gluck, Craig Klumpp, Garrett Morris and Josh Pearson won with a time of 3:52.42. Another four in Lyonel Fritsch, Noah Golovan, Eli Harvey and Noah Fox won the 400 free relay for the Scots with a time of 3:38.86.

Klumpp also took home top honors in the 1000 free (11:40.90) and the 200 breast (2:26.76). Pearson won the 400 IM in 4:21.74 and the 500 free in 4:56.41, while Gluck won the 200 back in 2:02.74.

Fox won the 50 free in 24.50, besting Wittenberg's second place effort by .08 seconds. He also won the 100 free in 53.79.

In diving, Eric Jacques won unopposed in the 1-meter (220.55) and the 3-meter (208.10).

Both teams now have two wins in two meets on the season. They travel to Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday. No spectators are allowed, but video will be available from Ohio Weselyan.
