The College of Wooster's Josh Pearson was a no-brainer selection for the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week, as the Fighting Scots' rookie sensation set a school record and six Timken Natatorium records at the Wooster End of Season Meet.

Pearson, who won all eight events he entered, broke the school record in the 400 individual medley at 4:03.53, and set a new Timken Natatorium record in the process. Pearson's time was nearly four seconds better than alumnus Garrett Layde's school-record time of 4:07.20, and it bettered Case Western Reserve University's Drew Hamilton's pool record by over nine seconds.

Earlier on Saturday, Pearson's 4:39.67 in the 500 freestyle shattered the Timken Natatorium record of 4:47.79 that was held by Denison University 16-time All-American P.J. Schaner. At the end of session one, Pearson, senior Josh Gluck, sophomore Noah Golovan, and senior Wyatt Foss teamed up to break the 400 medley relay Timken Natatorium pool record at 3:30.75, and the same quartet was up to the task in the 200 medley relay, downing another Denison record with a time of 1:35.79.

Pearson also set the Timken Natatorium record in the 1,650 freestyle (16:23.55), and he was part of the pool record-setting effort in the 800 freestyle relay (7:14.33), which also consisted of Gluck, senior Craig Klumpp, and Foss.

Pearson's the second Wooster men's swimmer to earn the NCAC's weekly honor this year. Klumpp earned the honor back on February 15.
