Scots Win First Dual Meet of Year

Doak Schultz SOUTH EUCLID -- The College of Wooster men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in and won its first dual meet of the season at Notre Dame College. 

The men defeated the Falcons 137.5-124.5, while the women did the same by a score of 149-112.

Sophomore Josh Pearson and first-year Ollie Bream each won three events to lead the men and women, respectively.

Pearson won the 200 free in 1:50.22, the 100 fly in 53.58 and the 200 IM in 2:02.03. Bream won the 200 fly in 2:14.03, the 100 fly in 1:01.10 and the 200 IM in 2:17.23.

Focusing on the men, Isaac Shaker won the 1000 free in 10:29.44 and the 500 free in 5:01.15. He also teamed on the 400 free relay team with senior Doak Schultzfirst-year Zach Fickes and first-year Ryan Gross who tied for first place in a time of 3:19.25.

First-year Tucker Andrewjeski won the 100 breast in 1:03.78 as well as the 200 breast in 2:18.44. Finally, first-year Damien Donado won the 200 fly in 2:06.06.

On the women's side, the 200-medley relay team of senior Mia Chen, senior Molly Likins, junior Kay Wetmore and sophomore Emma Connors posted a winning time of 1:55.64.

Likins won the 100 breast in 1:09.38, and Connors added a 500 free win in 5:24.68.

Sophomore Maddie Becker won the 50 free in 25.94, and senior Madison Whitman won the 200 breast in 2:33.48.

Next, the Scots will host their first meet on Oct. 30 when Malone University comes to Wooster.
