Scots Compete at Kenyon Fast Chance Invitational

Noah Golovan, College of Wooster swimming & diving The College of Wooster swimming & diving team sent a group of competitors to Saturday's Kenyon College Fast Chance Invitational, including hopeful national qualifiers Ollie Bream and Josh Pearson.

Bream, a first-year, entered the week 15th in Div. III in the 200 butterfly following her NCAA Div. III "B" cut time of 2:03.74 at last week's North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. She elected to log a better seed time in the 100 butterfly in anticipation of a hopeful national berth rather than try to better her time in the 200-yard event. Bream's 57.59 went in the books as the fourth-fastest time in program history.

Pearson, a sophomore, did try to lower his Div. III "B" cut in the 200 butterfly, but he was unable to so. Pearson touched at 1:52.52 on Saturday. He also went 59.78 in the 100 breaststroke, with that time just a touch outside of cracking the program's top-10 in the event.

Junior Noah Golovan led Wooster's other swimmers at the meet with a top-five program time of 55.54 in the 100 individual medley.

The Div. III qualifiers are set to be announced on Wednesday, February 23.
