"B" Cut Helps Bream Land NCAC Honor

Ollie Bream, Wooster Swimming Ollie Bream's NCAA Div. III "B" cut in the 200 butterfly helped The College of Wooster sophomore standout secure North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors for the second time on Monday.

Bream won her signature event with a time of 2:05.14 at Saturday's Wooster Invitational. Bream was within :01.14 of her collegiate-best time that qualified her for the NCAA Div. III Championships as a first-year, and it was the top effort by nearly three seconds on Saturday night.

The Wooster Invitational double-winner claimed top honors in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:33.77 and was the 200 individual medley runner-up at 2:07.39. Bream helped the Fighting Scots post three top-three relay times with those coming in the 800 freestyle (8:01.04, second), 200 medley (1:48.91, third), and 400 freestyle (3:37.67, third). Additionally, the Scots' 400 medley relay's time of 4:08.96 was fifth in the field, and Wooster had the top time among NCAA Div. III teams at the midseason invitational on all four relays Bream was part of.

Bream was previously the NCAC Athlete of the Week following a dual meet against Baldwin Wallace University in 2022. She had the top times of 2:15.58 in the 200 individual medley, 2:14.45 in the 200 butterfly, and 4:12.05 in the 400 medley relay against the Yellow Jackets.

Bream is Wooster's third NCAC Athlete of the Week this season. Junior Emma Connors was selected on October 24 and sophomore Hallie Findlan on November 14.

Baldwin Wallace is where Wooster competes next, with that dual meet set for Saturday, January 14 at 1 p.m.
