Scots split home meet versus Grove City
Bream leads women with four event wins
The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams split their meet versus Grove City College on Saturday.
The women took a 169-119 win while the men fell 193-101.
For the women, the 200 medley relay team started the meet with a win. Hallie Findlan, Izzy Bellefleur, Elizabeth Theobald and Ollie Bream swam to a time of 1:53.28 to win their event by .59 seconds.
It was the start of a four-win day for the senior Bream, who finished well ahead in the 200 fly with a time of 2:10.17. Later on, she took the 100 fly in 59.26 and the 200 IM in 2:16.48.
Junior Emma Humbert won the 200 free in 2:03.99 and the 500 free in (5:33.52). JP Timken was right behind in the 500 for third at 5:34.53.
Findlan won the 50 free (25.05), the 100 free (54.70) and placed second in the 100 back (1:04.04).
Sophomore Kate Peck won the 1000 free in 11:39.11.
Bellefleur swam 1:12.49 for second in the 100 breast and a 2:37.27 for second in the 200 breast. Maggie Layne followed in third at 2:38.43.
In the 200 free relay, the team of Keara Wiley, Timken, Charlotte Helm and Patricia Chen placed third at 1:48.46.
Wooster swept the diving portion of the meet. In the one meter, Cady Eakins scored a 146.90 to win for the women, while for the men, Blu Catanzaro scored a 188.10 to hold off teammate Noah McDonald's 184.15.
In the three-meter, Eakins posted the best women's score at 127, while McDonald edged Catanzaro 180.85-177.50.
Furthermore on the men's side, senior Isaac Shaker gave the men its first and only win of the meet, taking the 200 fly in 1:59.53.
He also placed third in the 200 back (2:05.59) and third in the 200 IM (2:02.67).
The relay teams took home second place in both its events.
The 200 medley relay team of Will Laymon, Nathan Ferrence, Marek Kaszynski and Callum Glover scored a time of 1:38.67.
The 200 free relay team had the same result, placing second in 1:31.17 behind the team of Glover, Ryan Gross, Ethan Neuner and Will Laubacher.
Glover also placed second in the 50 free (22.31) and third in the 100 free (49.35).
Laubacher finished second in the 1000 free (10:41.09), while Laymon finished second in the 100 back (55.16).
Boston Sullivan was second in the 100 breast (1:01.26), and Tucker Andrewjeski finished second in the 200 breast (2:15.64).
In a pair of third place finishes, Gross swam a 1:52.34 in the 200 free, and Philipp Drappatz swam a 5:07.11 in the 500 free.
Next, the Scots will host the Wooster Invitational from Dec. 5-7.
