Bream Now a Four-Time NCAC Athlete of the Week
Senior won four events at Wooster Invitational
The College of Wooster's Ollie Bream earned North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Fighting Scots' women's swimming and diving team to its first first-place finish at the Wooster Invitational since 2009.
Bream was a quadruple winner at the three-day invitational. The senior's 2:04.28 in the 200 butterfly was a NCAA Div. III "B" cut, and it is the 12th-best time nationally this season, per SwimCloud. Bream won the 200 butterfly by nearly five seconds. Bream's winning time of 4:32.00 in the 400 individual medley led the field by 6.72 seconds, and she had a two-second lead on the field in the 200 individual medley with a winning time of 2:07.01.
In relays, Bream was part of Wooster's first-place 800 freestyle relay, which posted a time of 7:56.45. Bream added third-place finishes as part of the 400 medley (4:02.82) and 400 freestyle relays (3:40.14), where Wooster came in behind two NCAA Div. II programs.
This is Wooster's second NCAC Athlete of the Week honor this season. Senior Isaac Shaker was the selection following Wooster's win over Malone University in early November. Of note, Bream is now a four-time NCAC Athlete of the Week.
Wooster returns to action on Saturday, January 11 when Bluffton University and Westminster College visit Timken Natatorium for a 1 p.m. meet.
