Our "Senior Salute" series continues with Teagan McCullough, a political science and women's, gender, and sexuality studies major from Springfield, Virginia. McCullough is a member of the swimming and diving team.
Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: I chose Wooster because I was recruited.
Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: It means to never give up and always do your best.
Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: My favorite memories are the relationships I have built with professors.
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: The best part is the great bond we have as a team.
Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I am in the Triota Honor Society. It is the women's, gender, and sexuality studies honor society.
Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: Dr. Michele Leiby because she encourages me to do my best no matter what and to take my time.
Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: Dr. Christa Craven because she encouraged me to look towards other departments for resources for my Independent Study. Coach Rob Harrington because he encouraged me to do my best in my academics as well as swimming.
Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I am researching gender identity and how it impacts political participation. I am also looking at how non-binary and transgender identities impact how people participate politically.
Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: I attended the National Women's Studies Annual Conference with my senior seminar class.
Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: Take your time and use your resources. Everyone here is there to help you.
