Women’s Relays Fourth on Opening Night of NCAC Meet
Bream lowers second-fastest 200 freestyle time in program history
GRANVILLE, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's swimming and diving team placed fourth in the 200 medley and 800 freestyle relays on night one of the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, held through Saturday at Denison University's Trumbull Aquatics Center. Wooster's men were led by a fifth-place effort in the 800 freestyle relay.
Senior Ollie Bream led off Wooster's 800 freestyle relay with the second-fastest 200 freestyle time in program history. Bream lowered her collegiate-best to 1:52.23, a mark just off the NCAA Div. III "B" cut standard of 1:52.17. Bream was followed by junior Emma Humbert, sophomore Rachel Frank, and senior JP Timken, who combined for a 7:49.85.
Earlier, Bream was the butterfly leg of Wooster's 1:48.42 200 medley relay. Sophomore Charlotte Helm, senior Izzy Bellefleur, and senior Hallie Findlan joined Bream on that fourth-place finish.
On the men's side, junior Callum Glover, junior Boston Sullivan, junior Will Laubacher, and senior Ryan Gross went 6:58.79 in the 800 freestyle for the fifth-place showing. Earlier in the session, junior Will Laymon, Sullivan, sophomore Ethan Neuner, and Laubacher's sixth-place time of 1:34.97 in the 200 medley relay was within two seconds of the program's 12-year-old school record.
Senior Cady Eakins scored 230.50 points on the three-meter diving board for an 11th-place finish.
Wooster's women are in third-place through three events with 135 points. National powers Kenyon College and Denison are ahead of the Scots with 281 and 236 points, respectively. On the men's side, Wooster is fifth with 110 points. Denison carries a 140-124 lead over Kenyon into day two.
Thursday's preliminaries start at 9:30 a.m. and finals are slated for a 6 p.m. start.
