Bream Qualifies for NCAA Div. III Championships
Senior set to compete in the 200 butterfly, 200 freestyle, and 200 individual medley in March
College of Wooster women's swimming and diving senior Ollie Bream is headed back to the NCAA Div. III Championships, thanks to her school-record-tying 2:02.95 in the 200 butterfly at Kenyon College's First Chance Meet last Friday. Bream was announced as one of the NCAA Div. III national qualifiers on Wednesday evening.
Bream's time is seeded 12th in the event, which takes place on Friday, March 21 at Greensboro Aquatic Center. She is also scheduled to swim the 200 freestyle on March 19 and the 200 individual medley on March 20. Bream is seeded 38thin the 200 freestyle, with her 1:52.23 ranking as the second-fastest time in program history. Bream is second all-time at Wooster with a 2:05.44 in the 200 individual medley. She is seeded 35th in that event with a time of 2:06.42.
This is Bream's third time qualifying for the Div. III Championships. As a junior, she placed 21st with a 2:04.83 in the 200 butterfly and went 2:07.06 in the 200 individual medley for a 33rd-place time. Her personal-best time of 57.19 in the 100 butterfly ranked 46th at the national meet.
Bream's first time at the Div. III Championships came as a first-year. There, she was 22nd in the 200 butterfly (2:05.42), 45th in the 100 butterfly (57.20), and 53rd in the 200 individual medley (2:10.41).
