<a href= Behind six combined individual wins, The College of Wooster men's and women's track & field teams both finished in third-place at Marietta College's annual Don Frail Invitational, held Saturday afternoon at Marietta, Ohio. Seven schools were represented at the competition.

Four of those victories came from the men, who totaled up 102 points for the meet, which was not too far off the pace set by Notre Dame (Ohio) College with 176. For the Fighting Scots, Terry Workman's showing in the 5000 meters may have been the most impressive of the day, as his time of 15:52.99 was approximately one minute and 25 seconds faster than his nearest competitor.

Also on the track, Julian Mangano crossed the line first in the 400 meters (50.01) and Bryan Albani notched a win in the 55-meter hurdles (15.65), while Josh Kime's mark of 45 feet, 5.25 inches was enough to top the field in the shot put.

Runner-up efforts were put forth by Robert McConnell in the pole vault (12 feet, 10.25 inches) as well as Ramses Clements in the triple jump (38 feet, 7 inches), and third-places went to Micah Caunter in the 800 meters (2:01.60), Eric Stein in the 1500 meters (4:15.13), and Kevin DeGroot in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:30.57).

Wooster's most impressive event of the day was the women's 1500 meters, with Kelsie Herring and Erin Plews-Ogan running 1-2, respectively, with times of 5:02.64 and 5:02.66. That certainly helped propel the Scots into third, as they wound up with 105 points to champion Marietta's 154.

The other individual victor was Sarah Appleton in the steeplechase (12:08.55), and Wooster had a series of second-place performances – Colleen O'Neil in the 5000 meters (19:45.93), Whitney Rappole in the 400 hurdles (1:09.61), and Abena Boamah-Acheampong in high jump (5 feet, 3.25 inches).

Rounding out the team's top-three finishers were Dana Culbert in the 800 meters (2:30.23), KateLynn Riley in the javelin (107 feet, 8 inches), and Gabriella Benkovits in the pole vault (8 feet, 9.5 inches).

The Scot track team will send split squads to a pair of meets next weekend, the Oberlin Invitational and the All-Ohio Championships.
