Competing against primarily NCAA Div. I student-athletes, The College of Wooster track & field teams had a number of notable performances at the non-scoring Bulls Invitational, hosted by the University of South Florida on Friday.

Highlighting the Fighting Scots' results for the women's squad was distance specialist Meredith Shaul, as the junior took sixth among a field of 15 runners in the 5000 meters (18:40.55).

In the field, Abena Boamah-Acheampong tied for eighth-place out of 14 when she cleared 5 feet, 2.25 inches in the high jump, while javelin throwers Katharina Kroll and Devin Johns came in seventh (121 feet, 3 inches) and ninth (90 feet, 4 inches), respectively. Also of note, Veronique Jones paced Wooster with a 15th-place effort in the shot put (32 feet, 2 inches).

In men's action, Luke Hutchingts-Goetz led the way with a sixth-place run out of 16 competitors in the 5000 meters (16:08.79) and Micah Caunter was ninth of 22 in the 1500 meters (4:10.19). Additionally, Kevin DeGroot turned in a fifth-place in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:22.59).

Next, the Scots will host their lone meet of the season, the Wooster Invitational, on Friday, April 1.
