Scots Compete at Non-Scoring John Homon Open

In a large meet with dozens of participants in most every event, The College of Wooster track & field teams put forth a series of strong efforts at the John Homon Open, hosted by the University of Mount Union Saturday in Alliance, Ohio. The meet was not team scored.

The Scots' top finisher was Abena Boamah-Acheampong, who tied for second-place with four others in the high jump (1.55 meters). Also in the field, Katharina Kroll was third out of 30 total competitors in the javelin (35.60 meters) and Miriam Wise posted a fourth-place effort in the triple jump (4.88 meters).

On the track, Stephanie McShane recorded the fifth-best time among 50 individuals who ran the 200 meters (27.02). Meredith Shaul crossed sixth-place in the 1500 meters (4:57.91), while Whitney Rappole and Sarah Appleton were seventh in the 400 hurdles and ninth in the 5000 meters (19:17.10), respectively.

Among Wooster's leading men's performers were David Brew, who tied for fourth in the pole vault (3.38 meters), and Ethan Deselem, who took 10th in the 200 meters (23.31).
