Abena Boamah-Acheampong became an individual champion in the women's high jump at the All-Ohio Championships, highlighting The College of Wooster's results this weekend, which included Saturday's 19-team meet at Granville, Ohio, as well a dual-meet at Oberlin College on Friday evening.

The women took 10th-place at the All-Ohio's, thanks in large part to three top-3 finishes, which included Boamah-Acheampong's victory in her signature event. The sophomore standout cleared 5 feet, 1.75 inches in the high jump to best 13 other competitors and take top honors. Earning a second-place nod was Erin Plews-Ogan, who took over the school record (11:40.30 in 2002) in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 11:40.20, while Meredith Shaul crossed third in the grueling 10000 meters in 39:33.51.

Other notables include Whitney Rappole, who finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.58), and Stephanie McShane, who took eight-place in the 200-meter dash in 27.30. Also, Jensen Buchanan was ninth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:10.83) and Sarah Appleton crossed 11th in the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:21.77).

Wooster's men didn't have many student-athletes involved at the meet, but Josh Kime produced the best effort with a 14th-place in the shot put (42 feet, 11.75 inches). Micah Caunter had the next best showing via a 17th in the 800 meters (2:02.64), and Ethan Deselem was 18th in the 200-meter dash (23.89).

On Friday, several Wooster student-athletes were victorious while competing in a small dual-meet against Oberlin, highlighted by Ann Berkow, who bested six others to win the women's 800 meters in 2:34.30. Others winning events include: Jessika Hutchinson in the women's 100-meter dash (13.75), Hannah Reiser in the women's 400-meter dash (1:07.13), Camille Schwartz in the women's 100-meter hurdles (19.61) and pole vault (9 feet, 8 inches), Devin Johns in the women's hammer throw (80 feet, 11 inches) and javelin throw (76 feet, 10 inches), Benjamin Althaus in the men's 400-meter dash (53.17), Michael Terribile in the men's 3000 meters (9:53.01), and Brandon Jacobs in the men's triple jump (33 feet, 5.5 inches).

Next up, Wooster will compete at the Kenyon Invitational on April 23.
