The College of Wooster track and field team had four student-athletes compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference Heptathlon/Pentathlon over the weekend, and sophomore Amy French highlighted the Fighting Scots' results by finishing second among a field of 11 in the women's pentathlon at the Gordon Field House on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University.

French scored 2,707 total points in the pentathlon's five events, which was just 25 points shy of the first-place finisher (2,732).

Her best performance came in the high jump where she placed third after clearing the bar at 4 feet, 11 inches. She also took fourth in both the 60 meter hurdles (9.69) and the long jump (15 feet, 1.50 inches), seventh in the 800 meters (2:44.46), and eighth in the shot put (23 feet).

Jensen Buchanan and Jocelyn Lion also competed in the pentathlon and had their best results in the long jump, where Buchanan took second (15 feet, 4.75 inches) and Lion wasn't too far behind with a 14 foot, 3.25 inch jump.

Wooster's lone male competitor in the heptathlon was Stephen Ferguson, whose best finish was an eighth-place in the 1000 meters in 2:57.15.
