Senior distance runner Meredith Shaul helped The College of Wooster women's track and field team to a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Div. III All-Ohio Championships Saturday, as she earned an individual championship in the 10,000 meters on her way to North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors.

Shaul bested a field of 20 by covering the 10k in a time of 37:49.60, which was about 25 seconds faster than the runner-up. It was also nearly a full minute faster than her third-place run (38:42.90) from last spring's North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. It's worth noting that last year's NCAC champion in the event finished in 38:02.11, which is nearly 13 seconds slower than the time Shaul posted this weekend.

The Fighting Scots will be back in action Saturday when they compete at the Kenyon College Invitational at Gambier, Ohio. The all-day event kicks off at noon.
