Abena Boamah-Acheampong reset her own school record in the high jump to highlight The College of Wooster's results at the North Coast Athletic Conference Quad, which took place at the Scot Center on Saturday and saw the Fighting Scots compete against Allegheny College, Kenyon College, and Ohio Wesleyan University.

Wooster's women took second to Ohio Wesleyan (207) with 145 points, while the men were third with 107 points.

The women totaled 10 top-three finishes, but only Boamah-Acheampong was victorious in an event, as she bested nine others in the high jump to reset her own indoor record by clearing the bar at 5 feet, 6 inches. Her previous best jump was 5 feet, 5 inches at last year's Fighting Scot Invitational Feb. 4.

Stephanie McShane also had a strong showing, as she took second in the 200 meter dash in 28.02, and also sprinted to third in the 60 meter dash (8.44).

Other near wins came from Amy French and Ellen Sandin, who placed second in the 60 meter hurdles (9.88) and triple jump (32 feet, 9.75 inches), respectively. Also noteworthy, Kendra Shehy was third in the high jump (5 feet, 2.25 inches) behind only Boaham-Acheampong and Ohio Wesleyan's standout Emily Amburgey.

Finally, the women's strongest relay effort came in the 4x400 meters, where Ashley Huddson, Chelsea Denlinger, Lauren Buyan, and Taylor Morgan crossed the finish line third in 4:25.31.

In men's action, Luke Hutchings-Goetz outlasted a field of 15 runners to win the 5000 meters in 15:33.24.

Jay Marshall earned second-place in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 12 feet, 5.5 inches, which narrowly bested classmate David Brew (11 feet, 11.75 inches), while Matt Margida also turned in a second-place result in the shot put (42 feet, 9.75 inches) against a field of 18.

Others contributing solid third-place performances were Mamoudou N'Diaye in the high jump (5 feet, 8 inches), Zach Towner in the triple jump (37 feet, 11.25 inches), and the team of Preetom Borah, John Lanz, Ryan Kish, and Brew in the 4x400 meter relay (3:37.47), who were only a second off the winning pace.

Wooster will host the Fighting Scot Invitational next Saturday starting at noon.
