Abena Boamah-Acheampong won the high jump at the All-Ohio Track & Field Championships, paving the way for The College of Wooster's women's team's 14th-place finish, while the men came in 18th during Saturday's action in Delaware, Ohio.

Boamah-Acheampong overcame the cold conditions to clear 5 feet, 4.25 inches, the same height she reached last season at the annual meet that brings together 20 NCAA Div. III schools from across the Buckeye State. The senior standout also scored a couple team points by taking seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 34 feet, 6.75 inches.

Hilary Coady and Kate Hunt also turned in notable individual performances for the Fighting Scots. Coady was third in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing in 1:05.54, less than two-tenths of a second behind the runner-up, while Hunt continued to make an impact in the pole vault, improving to 10 feet, 2 inches, which put her in a fifth-place tie.

Two of Wooster's relays scored. The 4x100 of Amy French, Kara Johnson, Paris Nahas, and Stephanie McShane teamed up for a seventh-place showing (50.81). Individually, McShane had been narrowly edged for a spot in the 100-meter finals as her 13.05 prelims time was ninth-fastest, while the 4x400 relay consisting of Ashley Huddson, Edie Anderson, Coady, and Lauren Buyan turned in an eighth-place (4:14.22).

In the men's event, both of the Scots scorers came in the same event. Luke Hutchings-Goetz was the runner-up in the 10,000 meters, covering the grueling distance in 31:50.43, while teammate Morgan Clark complemented him with a sixth-place showing (32:26.82).

Wooster has just two more events to prepare for the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, including the Kenyon Invitational next Saturday.
