Just like she did during the indoor season, Hilary Coady scored The College of Wooster's first points towards its team score at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, as she earned two points during the outdoor meet's initial weekend of action by placing seventh in the heptathlon at the two-day, seven-event competition in Delaware, Ohio.

Coady scored 3,770 points in all, which was good for seventh-place among nine competitors, although it was a very closely-contested field. The only athlete that really separated herself from the pack was Denison University's Aedin Brennan, who broke the conference record with 4,629 points.

Among the seven events, Coady's best performance came in the 800 meter run, where she crossed the finish line third in a time of 2:25.28. She also added a pair of fifth-place efforts in the high jump (4 feet, 8.25 inches) and long jump (15 feet, 3.25 inches), and was sixth in the shot put (26 feet, 11.25 inches) and javelin throw (78 feet, 1 inch).

The NCAC Championships will conclude next weekend with all the remaining traditional events set to take place at Gambier, Ohio.
