Matt Klonowski's razor-thin win the 800 meters at Saturday's Kenyon College Spring Invitational landed The College of Wooster sophomore in the winner's circle for this week's North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor for distance and middle-distance events, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Klonowski's 1:57.09 beat out 13 other competitors, while it was junior teammate Aedan Pettit who gave the Fighting Scots' sophomore his stiffest test. That's because Pettit crossed a whisker behind Klonowski at 1:57.10.

Noteworthy, Klonowski's time is the second-best within the NCAC this spring.

Klonowski, and his Wooster teammates, are back in action at Friday's Denison University Invitational. Field events start at 1:30 p.m. with track events to follow at 6 p.m.
