Westcott, Webster and Klonowski named All-Region

Three student-athletes from The College of Wooster track and field team were named All-Region as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Sunday.

Senior Carolyn Webster earned recognition in three events – the heptathlon, high jump and long jump – while senior David Westcott did so in the steeplechase and sophomore Matt Klonowski was honored in the 800.

Klonowski was first in the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships in the 800 after running a time of 1:54.27. Westcott won the steeplechase in 9:22.57 and broke the school record in a later meet at 9:02.96

Webster won the heptathlon at the championships with 4,263 points with a first place finish in the high jump at 5-feet, 3.25 inches and a first in the long jump at 17 feet, 2.75 inches.

Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors. A total of 1,915 honors were handed out to athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions.
