Maya Vasta

Sophomore Maya Vasta was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week in women's sprints and hurdles after her performance at Denison University's Bob Shannon Invitational this past weekend.

Vasta beat out 25 other competitors in the 200 meters with a time of 27.22 seconds. She then almost did the same in the 400 meters race but was the runner-up at 1:02.36, just .29 off from first.

Vasta's times in the 200 and 400 are now the times to beat in the NCAC.

This is the first time Vasta has been recognized by the NCAC office for Athlete of the Week honors.

The track and field teams will take part in the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday in Westerville at Otterbein University.
