Hoover Adds Eighth NCAC Weekly Honor to Haul

Isabelle Hoover, Wooster track & field The College of Wooster's Isabelle Hoover is now an eight-time North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, with the senior collecting her latest honor following a remarkable showing in Friday's 10,000 meters at the Bob Kahn Invitational.

Hoover broke the tape with a collegiate-best 36:42.32, a time that trails only five-time All-American and W Association Hall of Famer Katie Wieferich's 35:08.16 on the program leaderboard. Hoover's time was 15th nationally as of the conclusion of the meet, and it is now 18th. She holds the top time in the NCAC by 3:24.53.

The NCAC Indoor Women's Distance Runner of the Year has won five of her seven races this track & field season, including two of three during the outdoor slate. Just a week ago, Hoover went 17:53.76 in the 5,000 meters at the Wooster Invitational, and that time is second within the league.

Wooster's team returns to action at Denison University on Wednesday, April 13. The meet is the final leg of a series of duals between the NCAC rivals, and the Scots hold a 3-1 lead on the Big Red, thanks to wins in women's cross country (24-31), men's indoor track & field (74-73), and women's indoor track & field (88-25).
