Garretson, Partridge Headed Back to Div. III Championships

Dylan Garretson, Claudia Partridge, Wooster track & field NCAA Div. III Qualifiers Release

The College of Wooster's Dylan Garretson and Claudia Partridge are headed back to the NCAA Div. III Championships, which take place this Friday and Saturday at Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. The NCAA announced the national qualifiers on Sunday evening.

Garretson, who competes in the pole vault at 4:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. CT on Friday, is making his third appearance at the national meet. Garretson is seeded 13th at 16 feet, 2.5 inches. The junior debuted at nationals at the 2022 indoor meet and placed 14th at 14 feet, 9 inches and followed that up with a 16th-place finish at the 2022 outdoor Div. III Championships, clearing 15 feet, 3 inches. The projected four-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association all-region performer and four-time North Coast Athletic Conference champion is undefeated in the pole vault this season and has won the event 27 times during his collegiate career. Garretson upped his indoor pole vault record five times this indoor season.

Partridge, who is competing at nationals for the third time in the high jump, takes center stage at 1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. Partridge is seeded 10th at 5 feet, 6 inches. Partridge debuted with a 12th-place mark of 5 feet, 3.25 inches at the 2022 Div. III Indoor Championships and she went on to post a 19th-place mark of 5 feet, 1.25 inches at the outdoor national meet. Partridge, who holds the program record at 5 feet, 6.5 inches, nearly got there with a clearance of 5 feet, 6 inches on her way to winning the pentathlon title at the NCAC Championships. The projected four-time all-region performer has seven-career All-NCAC awards.
