Wiesner Caps Career as Two-Time All-American

Ainsley Wiesner, Wooster Track & Field MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina – The College of Wooster's Ainsley Wiesner capped her Fighting Scots' career as a two-time All-American with a 12th-place showing in the hammer throw at the NCAA Div. III Championships.

Wiesner earned second-team All-America laurels from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association with a mark of 170 feet, 2 inches on her opening attempt. Unfortunately, Wiesner was unable to improve upon that due to fouling on attempts two and three. Wiesner was previously a first-team All-American with a fifth-place weight throw of 60 feet, 9.25 inches at the 2024 Div. III Indoor Championships.

"Finishing up as an All-American is a tremendous way to cap off Ainsley's outstanding career she had as a student and as an athlete here at Wooster," said Dennis Rice, Wooster's head coach. "We are proud of what she has accomplished. To be able to cap her senior year off at the outdoor championships as an All-American is a special thing."

Wiesner, Wooster's first women's thrower to qualify for the outdoor Div. III Championships,  surpassed 170 feet in the hammer throw three times this spring, starting with her school-record of 176 feet, 2 inches at Ohio State University's Jesse Owens Track & Field Classic. She went 171 feet, 2 inches at the University of Mount Union Last Chance Meet earlier this month.

Wooster student-athletes have now earned eight All-America honors this academic year, with five in track and field and three in men's lacrosse.
